Hi, Eric here. And before we jump into this week's episode, I have some great news.

0:05.7

On Sunday morning, July 5th, my daughter, Eve, was born. Here are some of our first sounds.

0:16.0

Eve and her rock star mom are both super happy and healthy. But as Brittany and I mentioned, I'll be taking

0:21.5

some time off from the show to spend at home. But don't stress, because we have some amazing

0:26.2

guests lined up for you in the meantime that we're really, really excited about. Just an FYI,

0:32.0

this week's show was recorded before those events. Before we start the show, here's a quick story about Eve's first few days in the world.

1:31.0

It took what felt like forever just to get a few drops. Eve let us open her mouth and these drops

1:38.3

slowly trickled down the cup. After the longest pause of my life, she swallowed.

1:45.6

It seemed anticlimactic.

1:47.4

Did this do anything?

1:49.1

Should we still call a doctor?

1:50.5

Do we need more?

1:55.2

Just before despair, she did something I'll never forget.

2:04.5

Still in a rock, hard sleep with eyes pressed seemingly too tight together, She smiled. The biggest smile she's ever smiled, bigger than someone three days old should be capable of. So big that I thought in a

2:10.8

second we would be graced with her first laugh. Too soon, though, she slowly relaxed back into
