vibe. Yeah. I feel. Yeah. Doing a little crossover episode here. Wow. So cool. And Caitlin and I are here to talk to Mia Donovan filmmaker,

here to discuss her new documentary, Dope is Deaf. Mia, how's it going?

Well, thanks. Thanks for having me. Yeah, thank you for being here. We,

Caitlin and I talked to Mia before on an episode of pretty scary about her previous documentary, which is called

Deprogrammed. If you've never seen it, it's really good. It is about a cult deprogrammer

with a whole lot of personality and Ted Patrick. Very charming cult deprogrammer. He's got a lot

of Verve. Black Lightning. Man. Very interesting guy.

Yeah.

But we're talking about Mia's new documentary today, which is called Dope is Death.

If he could, give us just a quick elevator pitch synopsis of what it's about.

So Dope's Death traces the history of community acupuncture to the Black Panthers and the young lords in the

South Bronx who in the early 70s found it the first community acupuncture clinic that treated

people with heroin addiction issues. And this story seems like one that was kind of lost to history.
