in May of 2016. It was commissioned by Dr. DeVito and it's currently celebrating its 20th

anniversary of being weird and fucked up. Ah, you must be referring to Donnie Darko.

That's right. Before Jake Gyllenhaal hurted sheep that one summer up on brokeback.

Before he almost flash froze in day after tomorrow. Before you heard Hugh Jackman's faint whistle

in Prisoners and away before he baffled Spider-Man with his illusions as Mysterio.

He played a troubled teenager haunted by a spooky rabbit named Frank. And that teenager's name,

Donnie Darko. This is an extremely interesting film that spawned an extremely interesting

conversation by the nature of time travel, wormholes, destiny. It's got a morbid, disturbing tone

and atmosphere. And we're still not sure if all the pieces for understanding this film are present

in the actual film itself, so you might have to explore some DVD inserts or do some deep diving

on message boards to fully get it. Regardless, the film has been expanding minds and creeping people

out for 20 years now. And it's been a long time since we talked about it, so here it is again

if you missed it the first time. Or if you're looking for something unsettling to experience again,

this close to Halloween. Either way, we hope you enjoy this re-release of a modern day cult classic.
