The Dan Markell murder goes back all the way to July of 2014.

So it is a story that has been trending for way too long.

Of course, today is the day that Donna Adelson's trial was supposed to begin.

There is no trial.

And tonight, another layer to this complex case, as if it wasn't complicated enough,

her son, Charlie Adelson, who's already a convicted murderer, Donna's son.

He's supposed to be serving life in Florida, but because he threw the Latin Kings gang under the bus,

they had to move, they had to move him to South Dakota to a place called the Jameson Annex.

And guess what?

There's been absolute chaos and violence erupting over the last several weeks at the Jamison annex with

protesters outside, people getting injured, up to 10 inmates injured.

And that could impact this case because Charlie could be a witness.

We just don't know.
