Well, if all goes according to plan, today should be the final hearing for Donna Sue Aedelson inside a Leon County courthouse before her trial commences one week from Tuesday on August 19th.

Welcome, everybody. This is Surviving Survivor, the show that brings you the very best guests in all of true crime on trending criminal cases. And for those who are new

to this case, it's been trending far too long since 2014. That was the year that Dan Markell

was shot and killed in his driveway back on July 18th of 2014, succumbing to his injuries the next day on July 19th

and through some really amazing investigative police work and through the help of a next-door

neighbor named Jim Geiger, a senior citizen who happened to spot a vehicle.

Tallahassee PD were eventually able to trace down two men.

Sigmado Garcia Luis Rivera, one Luis Rivera is a member of the Latin Kings gang.

The other, Sycfredo Garcia, a childhood friend of Luis Rivera.

And Sikfredo Garcia had children with a woman named Katie Magbanawa.

And that woman Katie Magbanawa at one point dated Charlie Adelson, the ex son, uh, brother-in-law,

the ex-brother-in-law of Dan Markell.

And sure enough, they were able to link these people together. Charlie Edelson convicted in a murder for

hire plot back in 2023 is now spending the rest of his life in Florida. However, because of the

defense that they used, throwing down, throwing the Latin Kings gang members down during the

defense. Because of that, Charlie Adelson was moved to a state pen in South Dakota, where as far as we

know, he is currently living. The other family member, of course, the hitman convicted.

One of them, Luis Rivera, cut a deal.

He'll eventually get out.

He's the only one.
