Down in Texas, more than 100 people are dead.

30 of them were children.

A summer camp has been completely destroyed.

Families are suffering from unspeakable grief.

And while all of this was happening, while parts of Texas were underwater because of flash flooding,

Donald chilled out on a golf course.

The catastrophic floods that tore through Kerr County, Texas this past weekend, were among the deadliest in decades. But what makes this horror, this absolutely horrific tragedy,

more unforgivable, worse, if that's even possible,

is the extent to which we know it could have been and should have been prevented.

This was not just a natural disaster.

And of course, in the grand scheme of things, we can lay that at the feet

of the Republican Party, which is a party that does not, quote, unquote, believe in catastrophic

climate change, that does nothing to rein in catastrophic climate change, that makes policies

that make climate change worse.

That's bad enough. But in this specific instance, the deliberate and malicious failures were political.

This situation was made worse by Donald's budget cuts, his cuts to vital agencies, his cowardness, and the absolute,

empty, vapid, despicable, self-centered cruelty of the Trump regime's response to this.

Amid the devastation, two young women did what Donald Trump and his complicit Republican Party

do not have the courage to do.

19-year-old's Silvana Garza and Maria Paola, Mexican counselors at Camp Mystic, help save dozens of campers,

girls, when the floodwaters came. They are heroes. And the entire world needs to know

just not the extent to which their actions were heroic, but the extent to which their heroism stands in the starkest contrast
