My topic this morning is don't worry.

Now I have never actually heard this song but I guess a few years ago there was a song

called don't worry, be happy.

And my little granddaughter who was then, I think, two years old, had learned this song as

children, two years old, can't help learning almost anything they hear.

And that's a good hint for you, mothers of young children, because your children can learn

almost miraculously fast.

You see to it that you stuffed their heads with something that's worth learning, like

the scriptures and scripture songs and things like that.

But little Colleen had learned that song and she learned it with the accent of the man

who sang it.

And I'm told that I think he was Indian or something, but at any rate her father, who's

a minister, was entertaining a visitor in the living room and the visitor had come because

he was in deep trouble.

And little Colleen wandered into the living room, saw this man looking very sorrowful.

And she planted herself in front of him and she said, don't worry, be happy.

Now there is no more useless piece of advice if you're not a Christian than don't worry.
