Yeah, it's true. I have a number of friends who are in some really hard places right now.

And Robert and I have experienced some of those terrible news moments ourselves.

Jeremiah chapter 17, we get a picture of a person who is prepared for those times because he has

learned to put his trust in the Lord. The scripture says that person is like a tree planted by

water that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green.

It is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.

I want to be like that. I do too, and I don't think there's any want to be like that. I do too and I don't think there's any way to

become like that without having times of testing. I think of the example of my dear

friends Chris and Carrie Tifo. In fact about 10 years ago I remember hearing the news

that their seventh child had been born with severe physical

disabilities. But throughout those years, I saw Chris and Carrie and their precious family
