This is the greatest hour to follow Jesus.

I was raised in Waco, Texas.

Have you heard of Waco? Yeah, in Connecticut, they all called it Waco, you know.

I left Texas in 42 years ago. And I went to seminary seven years. Got ordained as a Lutheran pastor.

I served a church in Connecticut, I mean in Ohio. Then I went

in the Navy for a few years as a chaplain, got out of the Navy, took a church in Connecticut where

I thought I was going to be for three or four years and go back to Texas. And 28 years later,

I was still in this church in Connecticut. And so finally, last year I retired and moved back to Texas with my

wife, who was also a Texan. And now we're living in Dallas and have a ministry there, and so be

that. But I'm in Connecticut. I'm doing my Navy reserve duty. I go to this church in 1989 called

St. Paul in Westport. And I'm over in Newport, Rhode Island,

doing lectures at the War College on Ethics and Morality. And I'm driving back that day,

about a three-hour drive, and as I'm driving back in my car on Interstate 95, unsolicited,

this gibberish starts coming out of my mouth.

Now, you have to understand, I had no point of reference for this.

I thought I was losing my mind because I couldn't stop it.

And in between this, whatever it was, I started crying.

And then I'd compose myself and start crying.

It was constant. I couldn't stop it. So I'm a traditional Lutheran pastor and a traditional

Lutheran church, and I'm thinking, whatever this is, it needs to go away. It needs to cease

and assist, but it didn't. So as I'm struggling with this,

finally I said, Lord, I need a sign. Have you ever asked the Lord for a sign? Yeah. Yeah.
