0:27.7	How does God accomplish his greatest work? We are studying in Mark
0:32.3	chapter 6 and we learned yesterday that Jesus wants to do mighty works. He went to his own hometown.
0:39.3	Mark chapter 6 in verse number one, his own hometown to do something.
0:44.7	And the Bible says in verse 5, he could there do no mighty work.
0:48.1	And the reason is found in verse 6 because of their unbelief.
0:52.4	So we know where he wants to do the mighty work. He wants to do it right
0:55.3	where we are. He wants to do it in common places. But how does he do it? Well, that answer is also
1:01.4	given in this same story. The Bible says in verse 2, and when the Sabbath day was come, he began to
1:06.8	teach in the synagogue. Notice here the emphasis on the synagogue, not the temple.
1:13.0	The temple was the place where religious sacrifices were made.
1:17.0	The temple was the place where so much attention was given by religious people, and yet,
1:22.4	notice, Jesus' ministry revolves not around the temple, but around the synagogue.
1:27.3	It is of note that the New Testament
1:29.4	Church will base its pattern and its form not on the temple function but on the synagogue. The
1:37.1	synagogue was a place of teaching. It was a place of instruction. It was a place where you came to
1:42.2	learn the Word of God and to fellowship with other believers.
1:46.0	In the New Testament, we are the Temple of the Holy Ghost.
1:49.7	God lives within us.
