Well, I grew up in Texas, and one of the most popular summertime activities in Texas is to

tube down the Guadalupe.

You would get into an inner tube, you and your buddies, and float down the Guadalupe River.

And I remember a buddy of mine telling me about once he and a group of friends did that.

They each got their own inner tubes, all got into the river, and floated down it. And each one

had a tube and they had a tube where they had sort of shoved in a cooler filled with beer.

And as you're floating down the river, it's a pretty calm experience until you hit some

rapids. And the rapids aren't so intense

that you might die, but you can get banged up a little bit. And so you want to make sure you don't

go down them backwards. That'd be like the worst thing. But they're floating down the river,

all visiting with each other. And it'd been such kind of a lazy experience. It kind of caught

them by surprise that they hit the first set of rapids.

And they said there was a moment where one of their girls, bless her heart, had got turned

around and suddenly felt the pull of the rapids and she was about to go down backwards.

And so when she experienced that, in her concern, she yelled out to her friends, help me.

And as soon as she said that, they suddenly realized, oh, we're already at the falls, and they saw her with an issue. But then in that moment,

he said, me and my buddy looked at her and saw, she needs help, but then it also made them think

about the beer. And they realized it was also in jeopardy.

And he said, so in that split decision, he and a friend looked at each other, the two of them saw these two crises, made brief eye contact, and then in a moment, both leapt to save
