Lord spoke to me this week. I think it's going to encourage you. First damage chapter 16 verse 1. And the Lord said to Samuel, how long are you going to mourn for Saul since I have rejected him as King over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, someone say oil.

And beyond your way, I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be King. I know it. It's three weeks with one little verse. Week one, I preach from this passage. I preach the message called don't take my oil.

1:18.0

I thought it was done, but then the Lord gave me another message. I preach it last Sunday. Don't waste your oil. And then I thought it was done. And then the Lord whispered something into my heart early this past week. And now I'm going to shout it into yours. The Lord wanted me to remind you don't lose your oil.

1:41.0

Don't lose your oil. Come on, look at your neighbor say neighbor. Don't lose your oil. Look at your other neighbor say other neighbor. Don't lose your oil now. Don't lose it. Don't lose it.

Oil, if you are just joining us, is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. And whenever the Holy Spirit shows up throughout God's word, he always shows up in power. Someone say power.

2:10.0

The Greek word for power is the word dynamo. It's where we get the word dynamite. The Holy Spirit is a dynamic dynamite like power in your life. Now this morning at South Miami, it was hot in the room. And so I think people were feeling it a little bit. But just by a show of hands, how many out there could use a little bit more supernatural power in your life? Just wave at me. Just wave at me. Something like I'm good, but I'm strong enough.

2:38.0

Not me. I could use the help of the Holy Spirit. I could use the oil of the Holy Spirit. And when you study the Bible, what you'll see is that when kings were selected and chosen by God, the prophet would come and anoint them with oil as a symbol of the Holy Spirit resting upon them.

2:59.0

The oil behaved like an ointment that was setting the person apart for a purpose, for a calling, for a mission. And we have been looking at this little verse in First Amidst chapter 16 verse 1. And we've really been studying the life of David.

3:18.0

David, whether you're new to church or not, you probably heard his name before. He's famous for a battle with a giant name, Goliath. But David was the second king of Israel. And David was anointed with oil. And when he was anointed with oil, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit came upon him in power from that day forward.

3:41.0

The Holy Spirit doesn't want to date us. Doesn't want to one night stand. Doesn't just want to meet you on Sundays. But he wants to empower your everyday life, everyday, all the days of your life.

3:56.0

Anybody grateful for a God who doesn't leave for a God who doesn't just meet us and then abandon us, but the God who walks with us.

4:06.0

David, of course, made mistakes. If I'm preaching to anyone that he's ever made a mistake, you're in good company with the men and women of the Bible.

4:16.0

But David had this conviction from God. David makes a massive mistake. And when he makes this massive mistake where he has a man murdered and he has an affair, he repents before God. But out of his repentance, we get the indication of his heart.

4:33.0

The word of God says that out of the heart, the mouth speaks. Out of all the things that David could say in this moment of failure, he doesn't say, God, don't take my palace. God, don't take my crown. God, don't take my success or my wealth. His prayer is one thing. God, don't take your spirit from me.

4:57.0

Don't take my oil. Because if I don't have oil, I don't have power. And if I do have oil, I don't care how much stuff I lose on this side of eternity.

5:11.0

With the help of the Holy Spirit, he's the one who brought it the first time. Come on, somebody. He'll bring it a second time.

5:18.0

But when David gets anointed that day and the Spirit of God comes upon him, sometimes we don't recognize that in God's words, that things don't happen always as quickly as we read them.

5:32.0

David gets anointed with oil, but he does not move into the palace that day. Instead, he goes back out to the pasture to be a shepherd and he counts sheep.

5:45.0

What a weird place to be in when you have a big calling from God or you have a deep sense of assignment or you have a God dream that's been birthed on the inside of you, but you look at your life and if you were to testify about it or describe it, you would say a lot of my life feels like a lot of people are going to die.
