Summary

We begin today by contrasting Trump’s style toward domestic policy and toward foreign policy. His instincts and trolling are a great asset with foreign policy, and we saw this embodied in his willingness to bomb Iran’s nuclear program. On the other hand, the flattery and lack of attention to details is killing us on so many domestic issues. He just wants a “deal” and a talking point. We’re joined later on by Lee Smith of Tablet magazine, who is very bullish on Trump’s overall performance in the Iran war. He believes the influencer army is irrelevant and losing the fight. He also believes many of them are simply motivated by Jew-hatred and valorizing stupidity. 1:01.6	But then, ultimately, you suffer from some of the same flaws.
1:06.0	It's not that Trump doesn't have principles, but when a personal ingratiation, instant gratification kicks
1:15.3	in, that is going to trump everything. Obviously, the last 24 hours has been a rollercoaster
1:22.3	of 50 million things. We could have done a podcast on each one, but putting it all together, it's really the same
1:29.7	thing. Ultimately, as it relates to foreign policy, when Trump is briefed with the right
1:37.0	information, he has much better instincts than on, you know, say, health care, immigration,
1:42.6	policy, any domestic policy, legislation,
1:45.2	budget bills.
1:47.0	And he'll want to act strongly in a balanced way.
1:51.3	I always had faith that he wouldn't get us involved in some mythical new Iraq.
