Hey there, friend, it's Chase. You probably realize that the world wants you to be one thing, right?

The world wants you to be one thing, and that thing should be safe. It should be predictable. It should be most of all realistic.

Now, this isn't some abstract idea, right? It's a basis for our education

system and essentially our professional culture. The work world is largely designed around the

idea that each of us is a cog in a giant machine with a single and very specific role.

You know, this is industrial revolution era thinking. That's obviously

very long outlived. It's relevant. But that's ultimately what the world still wants from you.

But somehow, at a young age, you're expected to decide which cog you want to be when you grow up.

And that's the thing you commit to for a really long-ass time.

You're told to start being realistic.

Translation equals letting your dreams get killed by people who have given up on theirs.

And this becomes so easily internalized.

It's heartbreaking to me.

But I'm also here to tell you that this does not have to be true, right?

You don't have to pick a lane.
