Conformity is a big issue today. It's a huge issue. In fact, if you don't conform, they attack you.

They call your names. However, the training for nonconformity starts early in life, very early in life.

Conformity, of course, is a neutral thing. We can conformity to

doing good things or bad things. We can choose to imitate some bad people or some good people.

And that is why the Bible often talks about conformity to Christ, conformity to Christ.

Conformity to Christ.

Let me give you an example of the power of conformity.

Not many years ago, there were a group of prominent sociologists, well-known nationwide, got

together and did a study.

They want to examine for themselves and to prove for themselves the power of conformity. So they held different classes across

the nation, not just one, but several. And in each class, all across the nation, were 10 students. And they basically said to the

students that on the wall, there are charts and there are lines at different length. And they said

to the students, every time you see the teacher points to the longest line, raise your hand. Here's the trick. In each group, they told nine of the ten. In each class, nine of the ten were told, when the teacher goes to the second longest line and point to it, you raise your hand.

It's thinking it's the longest line.

There's only one.

In every class, it was only one lowly student who was not in on the study.

And in every case, when the teacher pointed the second longest line,

the nine raised their hands.

And the one lowly students was utterly confused,

but nonetheless he raised his hand or she raised his hand too.

And their conclusion is 75% of the students

who saw with their own eyes the teacher pointing to the second longest, not the longest line, raise their hands.
