Hi friends! This episode is featuring Cian Foley, a software developer from Waterford, Ireland and went from being an unfit and obese 253 lbs/115 kg in his 30s to a world kettlebell champion and natural bodybuilding champion (NBFI) in his 40s.

During his time learning to fuel his body for exercise and sport, Cian developed a concept for eating in a way that helped him achieve an optimal body composition, while remaining strong and healthy.  The concept is called Don't Eat for Winter, which is at its core extremely simple:

"Nature produces an abundance of carbs and fat in autumn time, and as a result, the animal kingdom, including humans, are programmed to gorge during this time to prepare their bodies for winter."

From a survival point of view, putting on a bit of fat for winter was
advantageous, however, nowadays, we live in an infinite autumn, where foods are tailored to mimic these natural autumnal combinations in order to sell, but are often devoid of nutrition. It is no wonder that we have an obesity crisis and millions of people fighting daily to get into shape.

Cian's simple approach worked for him and has synergies with various dietary approaches that also avoid carb+fat combos.
