I've got many rules in life and only a couple in business.
Don't work with them.
Don't do them a favor.
Don't try to help them out.
Sure, give them a discount, but make sure before you make a committment to your family or friends, it doesn't end up coming to bite you in your ass.
The reason people lose friends when doing business is the emotional connection they have to money.
The emotional connection to the entitlement and lack of gratitude when hard decisions have to be made.
I've done business with a lot of people who were ONCE friends.
If you want friends, or family, don't do business with them.
Lean in, Listen, and learn.
