upside down times. It was very sad to hear the passing of Fred Curley Neal. When I was growing up,

the Harlem Globe Trotters were the coolest guys around. Anytime the Harlem Globe Trotters came to town, you went to see them.

My dad took me to see them multiple times.

The skills were uncanny, the things they could do with the basketball.

And I remember just thinking, like, why don't they go to the NBA and be the champions every

year?

They were incredible.

Of course, I had no concept at the time that they were playing a bunch of hand-picked losers

that they were going to ultimately win every night.

I think the Washington Generals maybe won once in all those years,

but the things they could do with the basketball, you know,

the things that most high-end basketball players can do, although you don't see them do them.

When you're a kid, you're thinking that only the Harlem Globetrotters can do that kind of stuff.

And they had a commercial on Saturday morning, not a commercial, a cartoon on Saturday morning,

which was a huge deal in the 70s.

The world revolved around the Saturday morning cartoons.

You had it made when you had a Saturday morning cartoon.
