Well, since the last time we spoke a week ago, we've had the White House Correspondence dinner and the attempted assassination of the president, a scary event.

A lot of people, friends and strangers alike, reached out to me through emails or DMs or texts

or whatever, maybe some of you, in which case, thank you, to ask if I was there and if I was okay.

I was not there. I've never actually gone to one of the dinner. Someone told me very early on,

I don't remember who, this person, whoever it was, said, go to all the pre-parties, but the dinner

itself is a drag. It's long and you're crammed in there. And so I've taken that advice. In most years, I'll go down there and do all the pre-parties, which I did this year. I was there up until Saturday afternoon and then just leave the dinner. You all saw that Wolf Blitzer,

where the whole thing happened with the shooter. The shooter never got down those stairs. And Wolf said

that he was four to five feet away from the shooter. And thankfully, Wolf and everyone else was okay.
