Summary

Let’s start this week off with some good news. Listen to this Monday Mini podcast episode for some quick and practical encouragement to kick off your week and ground you in your calling. No matter what this upcoming week brings our way, we can start it off centering ourselves on the good of others and the glory of God.

Last week we talked about our weaknesses. Today, we’re going to talk about our strengths.

We’ve noticed that women (ourselves included) are hesitant to name and stand in our strengths. We’ve been conditioned to be scared of our God-given strength. But – God isn’t afraid of making us strong.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

You have inherent strength, if by grace through faith you walk with God. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive and at work in and through you. We’ve confused glorifying God for the strengths He’s given us with pride – and nothing could be further from the truth. We’re not prideful for giving glory to the One who gave us our strengths.

By failing to acknowledge areas where He has strengthened us, we’re missing out on claiming some healing and hope for our own lives AND missing out on serving others by using that strength for good.

You don’t have to live in the narrative that you are a victim and life is happening to you. Life is hard. Eternity is real. The kingdom of heaven is on your side and in Jesus’ name, you are strong. God is mighty in you – and we mean that. We’ll see you Thursday!

Welcome to the Go and Tell Gals podcast. I'm your host, Jess Connelly. I'm an author, a Bible teacher, a coach, and I'm obsessed with helping women take their place in the

kingdom and use their God-given gifts. I go and tell gals, we equip and encourage women with different

tools like our Map to More Guide, our group coaching program, Go teams, and even by training

other women as coaches through our licensing program.

Whether you're a college student, a stay-at-home mom, a small business owner, an astronaut,

or a veterinarian, our goal is that you lead this episode feeling more empowered to do what

God has called you to do. We're so glad you're here and we're on your team.

Let's jump into this week's episode. Good morning. This is Jess here. We're here with one of our

1:06.3

mini coaching sessions. Last week, we talked about how your weaknesses are not a liability. And today,

1:13.8

I want to encourage you about your strength. So if I'm in a coaching session with women,

1:19.5

and I would say specifically, if I'm in a coaching session with multiple women, I find something

1:26.1

is very interesting. When I ask them about their weaknesses,

1:29.8

when I ask them about what is hard in their life, when I ask them about what they're struggling

1:35.3

with or what their fears are, it is usually pretty easy for them to answer me audibly in front of

1:42.7

other people. If I ask a room full of women

1:46.2

what their strengths are, it's a lot quieter. We are very hesitant to name and I believe stand in

1:56.7

our strength in general, I think for a lot of us, we have been taught overtly and subconsciously

2:03.6

to be scared of our God-given strength. The problem with this is that God is not scared of giving

2:11.7

away strength to his kids. Isaiah 4031 says, those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

2:21.2

They will soar on wings like eagles.

2:24.1

They will run and not grow weary.

2:26.2

They will walk and not be faint.
