Good morning everyone and welcome back to another mornings with the masters where we

devote ourselves to the Lord daily with you. Good morning guys. Good morning indeed. We're

picking back up with new morning mercies today before we pick up with a new devotional

plan tomorrow. Yeah. And we did just want to quickly preface that if you're actually

following along with us in the new morning mercies devotional. And if you're not, you

can because there's a link to it in the description. But we're actually skipping July 12th and

going to July 13th, right? Yeah. Because July 12th was great. But it's kind of hard for

us to read. And so sometimes those don't always come out well in a.

They're taking this very interesting. Yeah. It's about identity. And we all have identity

stuff. And so let's do it. Tourists can take it from here. All right. Y'all, the devotional

says this, you don't work in the hope of getting an identity. You work in celebration of

the identity that in Christ, you have been given the poem says this. No need to search

for myself. No need to grasp for meaning for my life or purpose for what I do. No need

to hope for inner peace. That sense of well-being for which every heart longs. No need to

hope that someone or something will make me happy or give me joy. I no longer need any

of these things because grace has connected me to you. And you have named me your child.

Yeah. This hits really close to home for me because I feel like this is such a big part

of like my journey into like running to the feet of Jesus, especially as an eight, especially

as an atheist in my early 20s. Identity was something that I so deeply struggled with.

I felt like I once I had this image of myself of like trying to do everything right or trying

to get the good grades or trying to be the nice person or trying to have the pretty girl or trying

to be the team captain and sports or trying to do this, then I had to maintain it. And that pressure
