I look back and think, why was I doing two things at once?

You know, we're such great multitaskers.

Here's Debbie Millman. In the past few years a lot of Americans lost their jobs and have been struggling to reinvent themselves professionally.

When the magazine house and Gardens shut down in 2007,

Dominique Browning lost her job as editor-in-chief.

It was a shock, but it was also the beginning of another adventure in her remarkable career

as a journalist, editor, and author.

She wrote a heartfelt book about the experience titled Slow Love, How I Lost My Job,

Put on my pajamas, and found happiness.

In today's broadcast, we're going to talk about her book, as well as the art of living,

and about how design fits into the world around us.
