on the air all right uh friday afternoon the NFL announced the new salary cap for 2026. What the number is, it was a $22 million jump over last year's salary cap, and it is now set for $206.

They have $301.2 million. And with that now being official, that's the cap for 2026.

It kind of gives some clarity to the Miami Dolphins to where they are today

and where they would be moving forward with any trades and cuts,

whether post-une 1st, pre-June 1st, all that good stuff.

So right now, today on March 1st, the Miami Dolphins are under the cap,

but they're less than a million under the cap at $772,000. Obviously not a lot of money,

not enough to sign too many guys here in free agency. They got work to do, but they are under

the cap heading into the new league year as of today.

So that is good because on March 9th, which is pretty much a week away on Monday,

that begins the legal tampering period.

Then on March 11th, that is the official start of the new league year at 4 p.m.
