An official tells NBC, the department ordered the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District

of New York to dismiss all charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams.

Meanwhile, as we begin the fourth week of Trump's new administration, we are getting closer to an actual showdown between the White House and the courts.

Today, a federal judge in New York basically reminded the Trump administration that it must comply with a court order to unfreeze and distribute federal funds.

And up in Boston, a judge put another indefinite pause on the administration's

buyout offer to some two million government workers. 22 states took the administration to court

for slashing research funding, and today a judge paused that as well. But Trump's team is suggesting

they don't really care what the courts say. Over the weekend,

Vice President J.D. Vance wrote this on Twitter, quote, judges aren't allowed to control

the executive's legitimate power. Note that Vance is a graduate of Yale Law School.

Elon Musk also attacked judges on Twitter, saying that the worst 1% should be fired every year.
