I'm Harry Littman. The aftermath of the election continues to horrify.

Donald Trump presses forward, steadily revealing both the plans and personnel for his new administration,

which many view as steering the nation downward into authoritarian rule.

He and his allies claim that the American people have provided a mandate

for his darkest vision, but the numbers tell a different story. He won less than 50% of the popular

vote and posted one of the narrowest popular vote margins in history. Nevertheless, Trump is charging ahead at breakneck speed,

jumping from one startling prospective nominee to the next. It's classic Trumpian chaos, designed to

keep everyone off balance and ensure that no single controversy stay in the spotlight long enough to take

root before another one erupts. Trump already has absorbed a significant setback. His first

pick for Attorney General, Matt Gates, withdrew after it became clear that a conventional background

investigation would make his candidacy untenable.

Trump wasted no time pivoting to his second choice, Pam Bondi, the former Florida Attorney General

and a Trump arch loyalist. If she aligns herself with Trump's longstanding crusade to weaponize the Department of Justice,

the next four years at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue could be marked by relentless turmoil,

institutional decay, and a hefty toll on the nation.
