0:16.4	A major development tonight in one of the special counsel's investigations into former president
0:21.6	Donald Trump.
0:23.0	Trump is now facing new charges in the classified documents case.
0:26.6	Now he has already been accused of mishandling classified material and blocking the government's
0:31.5	efforts to get them back.
0:33.2	But late this afternoon, the special counsel released a super-seeding indictment at
0:38.0	in three new charges and naming another co-defendant in the case.
0:41.9	NBC's Laura Jarrett has all the details.
0:45.8	These new counts add a charge of willful retention of national defense information.
0:50.6	Mr. Trump has also charged, along with his personal aid, Wal-Nada, and a new defendant,
0:55.6	Mar-a-Lago employee Carlos Delavera, with obstruction conspiracy.
1:00.2	The new obstruction counts are significant and based on allegations that the defendant's
1:04.3	attempted to delete surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago in the summer of 2022.
1:10.7	That third defendant, Carlos Delavera, was a maintenance supervisor at Mar-a-Lago.
1:16.0	Also, Trump already faced 31 counts of illegally retaining national defense information, this
1:22.1	new indictment as a 30-second to the list.
1:25.5	It is related to a recording of the former president at Bedminster, where he's discussing
1:31.7	classified documents involving Iran.
