prosecuting individuals the President of the United States has made very clear he wants them

to prosecute because he sees them as enemies.

President Trump repeatedly accused the prior administration of weaponizing the Justice Department against him.

Now he has a Department of Justice whose leaders have made very clear they are there to execute his orders.

Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York, has today been indicted by a grand

jury in Virginia on two criminal accounts, bank fraud and false statements to a financial institution.

The charges are related to a property she owns in Virginia.

Late today, James released a video statement, and I want to play part of it.

These charges are baseless, and the president's own public statements make clear that his only

goal is political retribution at any cost. The president's actions are a grave violation of our

constitutional order and have drawn sharp criticism from members of both parties.

Well, the prosecutor that presented evidence today against Letitia James, Lindsay Halligan,

has no experience as a prosecutor. She was President Trump's former personal lawyer and

handpicked choice for U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Virginia. Haligan was just in court

yesterday for her office's arraignment of former FBI Director

James Comey.
