I would like to begin by calling this Be Nice to UPS Drivers Day.

Because I just read online some things about what they go through.

And, of course, almost all of us have a UPS or a FedEx person coming to our house

because so many people shop online.

I swear to God, we know them by name.

I'm not sure if FedEx is going through this, but evidently UPS is.

After record earnings, UPS, the world's largest package delivery company, installed cameras in its delivery trucks to monitor their employees, but did not change its heat safety protocols.

And its trucks are largely without air conditioning.

The company's trucks do not have air conditioning some are without

fans the warehouse floors and docks are dangerously hot the company has previously stated

it does not air condition its trucks because of frequent stops that would render air conditioning

ineffective uPS drivers are sharing thermometer reads from inside their

trucks. I'm looking at a bunch of thermometers. The first one inside the truck reads, and you can

tell it's inside a truck, 117 degrees. The next one, 121 degrees. The next one is 116 degrees. Evidently, it can feel like a sauna.

Inspectors have documented heat index inside a UPS truck of 126 degrees in Arizona and Florida.

And some have been caught at 150 degrees.

So if you see somebody jump out of that brown truck at this time of the year

and run as fast as he or she can with your package of massage oil,

thank them. Because that is today a tough, tough gig.
