After Trump's big beautiful bill, House Republicans have handed another win to President Donald Trump early this morning.

A bill cutting $9 billion in previously approved spending on foreign aid and public broadcasting

was narrowly approved by the House, with only two Republicans joining Democrats to oppose it.

Here's Speaker Mike Johnson after the vote.

This was directed to wasteful spending in the previous State Department, of course, the

Corporation for Public Broadcasting in a couple of other areas.

We looked at that.

We thought it was a waste of taxpayer funds and we're taking care of business."

President Trump celebrated the win in a social media post, saying, quote,

This is big in capital letters.

But Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer says the whole thing now casts out over whether

Democrats can work in good faith with Republican lawmakers, who could agree to a spending

deal now, but pull future funding later.

So while Trump is celebrating a legislative win, he's still dealing with an ongoing problem,
