Hello my friends welcome back and I say friends on purpose because we are gathered around

a common faith it's not just a sort of faith that's a well-wishing hopeful sort of

of an outlook on life. It is a faith that is rooted in the person of Jesus Christ.

And that makes us friends. That makes us more than

friends. We're brothers, we're sisters. We are part of a common family. And as we

are digging into Galatians chapter 2 here, we are getting to the root of that truth,

that we belong to a common family, that we belong to a common faith.

Because the Apostle Paul is explaining how he came to faith in Jesus Christ

and he's doing so to make the point of how vital it is

that we remain committed to a very simple message of the gospel.

He's been telling his own story and he's explained how after he received the gospel message

from Jesus Christ directly through revelation and what that means is

Jesus came to him you can read about it in the book of acts where he came to him

and gave him a vision of what the gospel is all about.

The apostle pole then just spent time with Jesus learning that gospel and he only came to the church leaders at the time much later to

confirm that what he had received was the same thing they were teaching and it

was and so he's been telling us that story here in the

book of Galatians of how that all came about. And then in verse six he's

continuing the story. He says and from those who seemed to be influential what they were makes no

difference to me God shows no partiality those I say who seemed influential

added nothing to me.
