Hey everyone, this is Ben Norton and this is Moderate Rebels.

I'm joined by my co-host Max Blumenthal and we are speaking with Brian Berletek.

Today we're going to talk about the situation in Southeast Asia and specifically in Myanmar.

If you've been following Western media reporting in the past few weeks,

and February there was a military coup in Myanmar,

and there's been constant reporting,

and there's been reporting that is very similar to the kind of reporting

that we talk about at the Grey Zone,

if you remember back to the war in Libya in 2011, the beginning of the war in Syria, where the media

talks about these great peace-loving democratic protesters.

And we're here to complicate that narrative and understand what's

actually going on in Myanmar.

And we're joined by one of the very few geopolitical analysts and independent

journalists who's been covering Myanmar in a critical alternative way. His name is Brian Berletic,

and he runs the blog Land Destroyer. He also has a YouTube channel under the same name Land

Destroyer, and he's been publishing

a lot of really interesting videos.

I would highly recommend checking them out, looking at the role of the U.S.

government, the National Endowment for Democracy, and funding a lot of these opposition

groups.

So, Brian, can you just give us an overview, you know, who are you and what inspires you to do this kind of journalism?

Because it's not something that we see really anywhere else, especially in mainstream media.
