Welcome back to the Dirt Show. You know, you can now watch the Dirt Show live on either

0:08.8

rumble or YouTube. If you want to send me messages as we're talking real-time messages,

0:16.5

it has to be sent to YouTube and I can read them on the side and I'll try to pick them

0:24.8

up as I'm talking to you so they can come in in real-time. Since we spoke last week,

0:31.2

there have been a lot of media developments. As you remember, the last show was my criticism of Fox

0:37.6

for settling a suit that I believe they could have won in the end, although they might have lost

0:43.2

that trial because the judge seemed to have been very biased against their position,

0:50.5

but I think it would have won on appeal. I was critical and I said on this podcast that would

0:57.6

cause self-sensorship. Well, my predictions are generally pretty right on and so today both Fox

1:06.0

and CNN engaged in self-sensorship, Fox by firing its most prominent online presence, obviously,

1:17.9

Tucker Carlson, who had the eight o'clock slot, the most important slot on Fox and who had

1:26.0

the largest audience, twice as large at CNN and MSNBC, only about half as large as O'Reilly,

1:33.6

who also got canned, but for I think rather different reasons. And then at the same time,

1:42.6

probably coincidentally, but who knows, Don Lemon either got fired or got just dismissed or

1:52.3

was made an offer that he didn't accept. It's a little unclear, CNN has one narrative, and

2:01.1

Don Lemon has another narrative, I believe, Don Lemon's narrative, I think he was fired.

2:05.9

The cases are rather distinguishable. I mean, Don Lemon did some things that

2:13.5

may very well warrant a firing. I mean, the worst thing he did was, you remember the case of

2:19.5

that guy? What's his name? Elon Smollett, the Smollett, who was, you know, being investigated for

2:27.7

making up a full story about a racial attack. And Don Lemon, supposed to be only a journalist,

2:34.1

gave him essentially legal advice not to give up his cell phone. That's not something a journalist

2:40.1

should do. It was much, much, much worse than anything that Chris Cuomo did, but Chris also was fired.
