Hello and welcome to the Americano podcast, a series of discussions about American politics

0:11.3

and the Trump presidency for the new Spectator USA website. I'm joined today by Jacob Heilbrun,

0:18.1

who is editor of the national interest and columnist for Spectator USA,

0:23.6

and we're going to be talking about the arrival, finally, albeit redacted, of the much-anticipated Mueller report.

0:32.3

Jacob, it's just dropped the Mueller report about half an hour ago.

0:36.1

I've sort of scanned through it.

0:37.4

1:26.5

And it does, as the Washington Post points out, detail, quote,

1:30.8

a damning timeline of contacts between the Trump campaign and those with Russian ties,

1:35.7

much of it already known, but some of it knew, unquote. I think it's obvious that the Mueller

1:42.3

report, again, is something that was never going to settle the debate.

1:49.6

The views are baked in on each side.

1:52.0

If you believe that Trump is an innocent victim, the report isn't going to sway you.
