Questions in this Episode

1. Is it unfair for God to require sinful people to "be holy as I am holy"?

2. Is it possible to love my neighbor without liking them?

3. A lot of pastors and Christians who talk about the idea of Christian Nationalism say things like the Great Commission requires us to disciple nations, not just people, and therefore Christian Nationalism should be apart of the church's mission in spreading the gospel. What do you think?

4. Should we insist on not talking about politics in church? If these things affect our lives, why shouldn't we talk about politics?

5. Does 1 Corinthians 11 forbid women from cutting their hair?

My question regards federal headship.

0:52.0

One, how is it that mankind is sinful now? And then two, is it unfair for God to

1:02.8

make commands of humanity given the effects of sin? So yeah, just kind of curious to hear a deeper explanation on federal

1:14.4

headship. Thank you. Okay, so I think I'm going to have to define that phrase that you used

1:21.1

federal headship. So you're talking about the fact that Adam, as the first created man, is the representative or was the representative

1:30.1

of humanity, the federal covenant head, we might say, of humanity. And that when he sinned,

1:36.9

we sinned in him. This is where we get the doctrine of original sin. And this is something that

1:42.0

we see in the Old Testament, obviously, you know, in the fall. You

1:45.7

also see Paul, I think, talking about this in Romans chapter 5, where Adam's one sin affected

1:53.0

all of us. Romans chapter 5, verse 12. Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man

1:57.8

and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.

2:04.4

And then he's going to go on and continue talking about that sort of relationship that

2:09.2

humanity has with Adam and then the relationship that humanity has with Jesus Christ,
