So Old Testament patriarchs like Abraham, for example, of course we know that he owns slaves.

And if you look in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul seems to defend the practice.

in Ephesians chapter 6, verse 5, he wrote, slaves obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear, serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. And then a few verses later, he says,

master in heaven, and he has no favorites. Paul uses
