Summary

Does soy really cause breast cancer? We discover the truth on this episode of The Exam Room podcast!

Dozens of studies are reviewed on as "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll is joined by dietitian Lee Crosby who will have you rethinking everything you thought you knew about soy. Is it a cancer fighting powerhouse or a cancer causing calamity? We have an answer!

Chuck is also joined by breast cancer survivor Christine Collins who shares her triumphant story. The mother of two young daughters had her world turned upside down when she was diagnosed and was rocked even harder when doctors discovered the cancer far was more advanced than originally thought. But Christine would not be deterred and immediately turned to a plant-based diet for help. Flash forward six years and she's still amazing her doctors today!

Dr. Kristi Funk steps back in The Exam Room with Chuck to discuss the third of four steps to reducing your risk of cancer as part of the Let's Beat Breast Cancer campaign: limiting the amount of alcohol you drink. As Dr. Funk explains, alcohol has been shown to significantly increase cancer risk regardless whether it's beer, wine or hard liquor. And she shares the way it interacts with the body to cause this!
