First up today, let's go to Larry calling in from Oregon. Larry, what's your question for Adriel?

0:53.3

Yeah, thank you, question for Adriel?

0:59.3

Yeah, thank you, Bill, and Adriel. My question has to do with free will.

1:05.3

So I know there are many pastors and teachers that teach that free will is a,

1:11.5

that salvation is a cooperative effort between man and God. And we know, however, scripture says that we are dead spiritually, that we need to be made alive for us to believe.

And we also know that God, he foreordains everything to come to pass, including the fall of Satan and the fall of man in the Garden of Eden.

1:44.0

Well, I think it depends on what an individual means.

1:47.9

When they're talking about free will, if somebody says, I have the freedom to, you know,

2:14.5

Every single part of us has been affected by the fall.

2:19.2

And so that doesn't mean that our will has been erased or that we don't make decisions now, even as nonbelievers, even as

2:25.7

those who are outside of Christ. It just means that we can't save ourselves that we're prone to evil,

2:33.2

evil desires, evil intentions. And so we need the work of the Holy Spirit

2:39.3

in our lives to renew us and illuminate our hearts so that we might embrace and even long for

2:47.3

the right things. Now, it's clear in Scripture that God does foreordain everything that

2:53.0

comes about, you know, Paul in Ephesians chapter 1, verse 11, says, in him we have obtained an

2:58.0

inheritance having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things
