during this crazy time in our world. I hope you and yours are safe and away from the dangers of the virus that is

spreading across the globe. I've been praying for you. I've been praying for

today at Matthew chapter 13 and we'll probably take a few episodes here to get into this

passage. It's known as the parable of the sower.

Now, sewing is not like with needle and thread that we're talking about.

This is as O-W-E-R.

This is like planting, sewing seeds in the ground.

It's an activity that was very common in Jesus Day.

When he used this illustration, everyone would have known exactly what he was talking about.

I want to read the passage and then we'll discuss some of it.

This is Matthew 13 beginning in verse 1 says that same day Jesus went out of the

house and sat beside the sea and great crowds gathered about him so that he got into a boat and

sat down and the whole crowd stood on the beach and he told him many things in parables

saying a sewer went out to sew, and as he sewed some seeds fell

along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.
