Hello again, I'm Mormon Alney, and this is To the Poet from Public Radio International,

a daily look at the issues Americans care about most.

Barack Obama is staking his first term as president on achieving health care reform.

Republicans are dragging their heels and Democrats are divided.

At tonight's primetime news conference, the White House says the president will address the questions Americans want answered.

On to the point, we'll address the political and economic realities that will

still be there in the morning. What are the hardest choices that will have to be made? What are the

special interest lobbyists up to? What if there's no bill by the congressional recess in August?
