Yeah, because in the biblical text, it doesn't specify what kind of a fruit it was.

And so, one, I think there's just a lot of speculation out there. I have read before that

it's sort of rooted in the Latin translation of the Bible, Jerome's translation of the Bible,

and using the word for Apple in that context. Then of course you see this also in medieval art
