Sportsnet, L.A., game five of the World Series between L.A. and Toronto is tonight at the

stadium 8 p.m. Eastern. We are joined right now by Jerry Harrison Jr. Jerry, I know you are

0:49.8

slam, dude. So I really appreciate you making time. How are you living? How are things?

0:56.1

I'm doing great. We're having a great time. and foremost thanks for having me jim uh listen we're excited here

1:00.5

i'm excited i will be feeling a whole lot better once the dodgers win game five i think it's

1:06.9

imperative that they win game five before heading up to tor for game six. So a little nervous anticipation for game five, but we're all excited. I got you. Okay, we'll talk about game five in one minute. I want to take you back to game four, though. After Monday's gut-wrenching loss in 18 innings, I thought the Blue Jays really showed their grit and their heart and why they had the best record in the American League in beating L.A. last night, 6-2. How impressed were you, Jerry, with the way they bounced back?

1:32.0

And what were your biggest takeaways from last night's game?

1:35.0

Extremely impressed with them bouncing back because they lost their leadoff hitter and George

1:39.6

Bringer, who's a difference maker for them. I thought that was a huge blow, but they still were able to respond.

3:25.3

They put really good at best together. Show you, Tani, I thought he pitched exceptionally well, giving us a chance to win. It was a 2-1 ball game hitting into the top of the seventh inning. The Dodgers weren't able to give them any run support, but really for the Blue Jays, man. there's a reason why they were the number one team as far as batting average-wise in all of baseball. They put the ball in play. They worked counts. And that was my biggest takeaway from game four. They weren't looking to slug. Even though Vladimir Jr. did hit that two on Homer. They were working the other field, putting the ball in play, and putting the pressure on our defense. I think that's the biggest reason why they were able to win game four. Right. Shoah makes one mistake, but that's all it took, was just that one big mistake. And we've been talking about this too, Jerry, the thing about Toronto, not only do they swing the bats, well, they don't chase. They just don't chase. They have quality of bats. You know, speaking to Shohei, he took the loss, but he didn't get a lot help from the bullpen when he left in the seventh inning. Having ridden that roller coaster all year long the way you have with the Dodgers pen, do you think L.A. has enough reliable arms on the back end to help them nail down that second straight World Series. Well, we're going to need for them to step up. We know it's really not been their best year coming out of that bullpen. But in order for the Dodgers to win the World Series, we're going to need a couple of those guys to really step up. And last night, you're right, Jim, in a situation, they came out of that bullpen. They aren't able to shut the door and pick up Shoyotani. But in my opinion, he should be put in that position in the first place. I thought the Dodger offense should have gave Shoy O'Tani some run support and ease that pressure off. But in that situation, a two-one ball game, second and third, nobody out. I think Shoy O'Otani in the top of the seventh inning was gaffed he gave all he could but we're going to need that bullpen at least a couple

3:30.8

of those guys to step up and hopefully blake snelt tonight goes out there give us seven eight strong

3:35.8

innings and then you got to remember you got yabamoto who threw a complete game in game two

3:40.2

can we rely on him to do that

3:41.9

again i don't know but we're going to need one of those or two guys at least to step up in that

3:47.7

bullpen hey jerry what about the bats what about the bats that was not just one game i mean the

3:52.3

bats have been a thing is that just a matter of hey lick it's the postseason you're going to run

3:56.7

some good pitching or it's just baseball or or both? What's going on with L.A. offensively?

4:15.0

I think it's a combination of both. I saw a little bit of tired swings, but you're right, it wasn't just last night's ballgame. You know, over the course of the World Series, outside of Joey Otani, the Dowager Office is hitting 194 as a team.
