Welcome to Part 2 of this week's podcast.

Look over to something that I think we misunderstand.

Beginning in Section 107, picking up with, start speaking about the lesser priesthood, the

priesthood of Aaron.

Verse 14, why it is called the lesser priesthood is because it is an appendage, there's

that word again, to the greater or the Melchizedek priesthood and has power in administering outward

ordinances.

The bishopric is the presidency of this priesthood and holds the keys or authority of the same.

No man has a legal right to this office to hold the keys of this priesthood except to be

a literal descendant of Aaron.

But as a high priest of the Melchistic priesthood has authority to officiate in all the lesser

offices, he may officiate in the office of bishop when no literal descendant of Aaron

can be found, provided he is called and set apart and ordained unto this power by the hands

of the presidency of the Melchizedek priesthood.

Now I've heard all kinds of people talking about over the years, you know, if we could

just find a guy that can actually trace his lineage to Aaron, that he has every right to

be a bishop of the Lord.

Well, first of all, it doesn't have anything to do with the word bishop.

This is presiding bishop.

This is stuck about the office of presiding bishop, which is basically what Edward Partridge

was, right?

He was the presiding bishop.
