May our testimonies be as deep and as strong as that of Jacob.

Hello, Unshaken Saints. I'm Jared Halverson.

I'm ready for another week of scripture study with you.

Today we'll be covering Section 41 through 44 of the Doctrine and Covenants.

It includes Section 42, which is the law that we saw hinted at back in Section 37.

In fact, it's amazing to me to see the date of Section 37,

and then to see the date of Section 41 where we'll start today.

Section 37 is the one where the Saints were told you need to pick up and move.

And that's the end of December of 1830.

By the time Section 41 is received, it's only February 4th, 1831.

I don't know about you, especially you parents.

I wonder how long does it take for you to give a piece of instruction.

We'll soften the word commandment for a moment to our children.

And then how long does it take for them to actually comply?

Or in our case, when the Lord asks us to do something,

when do we finally get around to doing it, especially if it's something monumental or difficult,

or requires a lot of self-sacrifice?

That's the case for these Saints in New York and Pennsylvania.
