0:51.3	So we're going to go in a slightly different direction today, but it's an important
0:55.6	direction, particularly for the medical providers that we have in the audience.
0:59.9	But I think this is going to be a topic of interest for moms and dads as well.
1:04.2	How is it that doctors keep learning and growing and staying current after finishing their
1:10.1	formal training of a medical school,
1:12.6	residency, and sometimes a fellowship beyond that. After all, the practice of medicine
1:17.6	continues to change at an amazing pace. And if I continued practicing medicine the way that I
1:23.5	trained back in the early to mid-90s, well, I'd be out of date and in many areas of practice
1:30.2	and I'd no longer be up to speed with the current standards of care. So the concept of
1:35.6	lifelong learning is really important in the field of medicine, not only for doctors, but even
1:41.1	more so for the patients that we're trying to help. In addition to staying current, how do doctors learn to become effective teachers and productive researchers?
1:50.5	These aren't really things that you learn in medical school or even residency for that matter.
