Good morning and welcome to the start of yet another week in the Independent Republic of Mike Graham,

the home and common sense, and the headquarters of course, of the truth, the whole truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It's going to be yet another rocky day for

the Prime Minister as the sharks are circling around him and around Downey Street, hoping to

take a bite out of Boris Johnson. Secure Starmer is calling for an apology to the nation over the

Owen Patterson lobbying saga, although I'm not sure what good that would actually do, and there's talk of a ban being introduced on consultancy roles for outside business from MPs.

Meanwhile, the slees word is being bandied about as though everyone is somehow surprised

that the business of politics is actually treated like a business by some politicians.

Starma Chameleon is also suggesting that he wants an assurance that Patterson, who has already

resigned, doesn't end up in the House of Lords. There's no doubt that the Lords is too big.

It's got too many peers in it and it is badly in need of reform. The question is, what are you going

to do with it? We should be seeking the very sound council of Anne Whittaker, who was a minister in

John Major's government. I mean, even he was having to go at Boris over the weekend, which is pretty rich coming from him, considering what went on under his leadership.
