All right. I am here with Dr. Yepregata from Common Spirit St. Anthony North Hospital,

who is an orthopedic surgeon and ankle specialist, which makes them the perfect person to talk to

about Bo Nix and this ankle injury. And I think, I want to start at the beginning. So Bo broke

his ankle in the playoff game back in January.

What do you know about how those ankle injuries work?

I think we were told generally a 12-week timeline.

Is that something that adds up to you?

Yeah, yeah.

And first of all, thanks for having me.

So, yeah, that's pretty consistent.

So he broke his ankle. And with these ankle fractures, they often, the fracture line extends into the joint itself. And that's the scary part where if the joints involve, the cartilage that lines the joint, that needs to be perfect. So in order to make sure that's perfect, they line it up,

fixed it with plates and screws to stabilize. So it's it's one of those injuries where and

surgeries where you're your non-weight bearing, you're off of it for two to six weeks depending.

But you're usually back to some type of like sport type activity three months or so, but

you're not 100% quite yet.

Okay. And so then we get the report over the weekend that there was a cleanup procedure,

which was scheduled, and I think it was scheduled for almost exactly 12 weeks out, which makes

a lot of sense. And I guess first of all, is having that cleanup procedure to go back in there normal for this sort of injury?

Or is it typically you go back in, doctor says you're good and you're off and running?

Yeah, you know, Bo is a special patient, right?

So he's a, he's a VIP.

So for these kind of high-level athletes, this is not uncommon to have the cleanup procedure.
