Summary

Tonight’s guest, Russel Wiitala, is a retired Postal worker who lives in Raymond, Washington. One day, in 2007, while he was going for a walk with a friend, his friend asked him if he had heard about a family seeing a Sasquatch close to where they were walking. Russel told him that he hadn’t heard about that and proceeded to ask his friend if he’d like to go looking for Bigfoot. As you’ll hear, if you listen to tonight’s show, the rest is history. 0:00.0	My name is Russell Wheatela. I'm a retired postal worker from Raymond Washington.
0:08.0	And right after I retired, I was walking with a friend and he asked me if I was aware that a family had seen a Sasquatch nearby.
0:18.0	I was shocked. Sasquatch wasn't even in my head at the time. And the next thing out of my mouth was,
0:26.1	do you want to go looking for Bigfoot? And my friend being spontaneous as he is, he said yes. So we began
0:33.4	looking for Sasquatch in 2007. And it took four years, four years to make contact.
0:42.3	They were aware of us. I know they were. We were out there everywhere, digging here and there, and basically just ignoring us.
0:53.3	But once they opened up, everything changed big time. and basically just ignoring us.

1:05.2	What happened was I was walking that trail where that family had seen that Sasquatch.
1:10.4	And I probably walked that trail, you know, 150 times and nothing had happened. And then, uh, that one day I,
1:13.6	I had, I could smell, um, something that sounded felt, it smelled like a dog had had rolled in
1:20.7	something dead. Uh, that's, that's the smell I got. And as kept hiking up the the road I kept smelling it the
1:31.6	wind was coming down the road and I wasn't passing the carcass so I understood something was
1:39.3	wrong here half mile past where I should have seen the carcass I had to to see in a carcass, and I still could smell that smell.
1:47.0	And then I heard three knocks, and that was the first interaction.
1:51.3	I went back.
1:52.1	I was very excited.
1:52.9	I called my friend Russell Wilson, not the quarterback.
1:57.3	Anyway, I called him and told him that I think I had an interaction and also as bold as I was, I stated that I think I could find him now.
2:09.6	During that four years that we had nothing happening, I did some studying and some thought and came up with kind of a formula that I thought
2:22.1	might work. And we went out to the Willa Pye Hills. And the first place we went to, they were there.
2:30.6	And now I think differently about that whole thing. It was as if they knew where we were going to go, and so they set up shop there is what I think now.
