It's time for another edition of Fighting for the Faith.

Wednesday, May 20th 2009. Another beautiful day here in the Midwest and it's absolutely beautiful here.

0:57.0

All right, you're listening to fighting for the faith.

0:59.0

My name is Chris Roseboro. I'm your servant in Jesus Christ, dishing up a daily dose of biblical discernment, the goal

1:05.6

of which is to get you to think biblically, the goal of which is to get you to think critically,

1:10.6

and to compare what people are saying in the name of God to the word of God.

1:16.0

Why? Because God's word is true and we men well we're not always so truthful.

1:22.0

So your job is compare what people are saying. My job, compare

1:26.3

what people are saying compared to the word of God. If somebody says, the Bible says this,

1:31.3

then you better be able to open up your Bible and have the Bible say it. It's

1:35.1

important. So unfortunately in today's church that people just seem to be making

1:40.4

stuff up. They're not interested in actually teaching the book that we've

1:45.2

been given by God. No, we're just going to teach some pop psychology or self-help tips and we're going to undergird that with or

1:56.5

sprinkle it with some Bible verses ripped from context that supposedly teach the

2:01.7

principles that are there.

2:05.0

And yesterday's sermon review was a great example of that.

2:08.0

What did that guy do?

2:10.0

He used Genesis chapter 3, the whole fall of man to his big takeaway point yeah the big the

2:17.8

big thought that was there in Genesis 3 is that God, you know, clearly communicates his expectations and you as a

2:26.0

parent you know or you should do the same in your family. Clearly communicate your

2:30.1

expectations. That's what Genesis 3 is apparently about. All right, we got a good program

2:36.5

lined up today. We got some listener email. Got some funny news stories here. The news story, I don't want to give this one away.
