I'm Keith Simon. I'm sure you're familiar with the

0:14.8

marshmallow test. It's the social experiment where they put young kids in a

0:18.3

room with a marshmallow. The teacher says that she's going to leave the

0:21.2

room and if the kid doesn't eat the

1:16.3

eternal joy that I find in being in heaven with Jesus is worth the sacrifice

1:21.4

that I make now.

1:23.0

Am I willing to wait for it?

1:25.0

Jesus tells us to lay up treasures in heaven, not on earth.

1:29.0

Am I willing to forego treasures on earth in order to experience more treasures more joy in heaven.

1:36.7

And that sounds like the marshmallow test doesn't it? The Christian life calls us to believe

1:41.7

what God says, to have faith that he is telling us the truth.
