Do you love the Lord Jesus Christ? We stand and sing in church, oh, how I love Jesus, but I wonder

at times if we're not singing a lie. You know the truth of the matter is

whatever you love, you live for. And in the end, if you examine a man's life, you can always tell

where his heart is. In Mark chapter number 12, the Lord Jesus has a very interesting encounter with a man,

one of the scribes, in fact.

The Bible says in verse 28, one of the scribes came and having heard them reasoning together and perceiving that he had answered them well, ask him which is the first commandment of all.

Now, let's go back just for a moment because the context of this question is that

Jesus has been bombarded with questions, and he's answered every one of them well. May I tell you

that all the questions lead to Jesus? You may think today, I'm struggling with something,

I'm not sure about something, I don't know what to do about something.

Bring it to Jesus. Because in the presence of Jesus Christ, you'll find clarity.

In the presence of God, you'll find the wisdom from the God of all wisdom that you need today.

And so this particular man comes, and he asks this question, which is the first commandment of all?

Now if you go back to the book of Exodus and you study the first commandment, you find the first commandment is that we're to have no other gods before him. That is the first of what is

commonly referred to as the Ten Commandments. But you have to understand the Jewish people,

they were living by the entire Mosaic Code, or at least they were trying to. There were

604 distinct laws in the original Mosaic Code, and since that time, the Jewish people had added
